Here are some of the libary books we have been enjoying lately. Many of them this week are from this great list from the blog No Time for Flashcards. I found the list on Pinterest.
Jake Stays Awake by Michael Wright. This is a story about a little boy who won’t sleep anywhere except his parents bed. Together, he and his parents try all sorts of different spots in the house, and finally Jake decides his bed really is best.
Learning to Ski with Mr. Magee by Chris Van Dusen. Mr Magee is sort of a clutz, so I relate to him immediately. In this book, he and his dog are learning to ski, but it is not without peril.
Dog’s Colorful Day by Emma Dodd. Monkey LOVES this book. Dog has a black spot on his ear, but by the end of his messy day, he has ten spots of different colors.
Not Norman by Kelly Bennett. The boy in the story receives Norman as a birthday gift and wants to trade him in for a “better” pet.
The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn. This book addresses separation anxiety in a gentle way. Monkey is not in preschool, but he won’t let me leave his preschool classroom at church. Ever. We’ve tried letting him cry- he is a Highly Sensitive Child and it just doesn’t work. I am hoping this story will help us move in the direction of staying in class by himself.
