Boy Books – Be Boy Buzz and others

Here are the library books that the boys and I have been enjoying this week.

Be Boy Buzz by bell hooks. Yeah – bell hooks wrote a kid’s book, and it is pretty awesome. The prose is catchy, and Monkey is really drawn to the images of boys, well, being boys.

Ah, Pete the Cat. How did we not know about you sooner? In Pete the Cat: Rocking in My School Shoes, Pete  is one cool customer as he heads to school.

Curious George’s Big Book of Curiosity. My three year old loves anything Curious George, but this one held his attention AND the attention of my one year old for an exceedingly long time. We renewed it as many times as our libary allows! It is sort of a cross between Curious George and Richard Scarry – there are lots of things to look at and find on each page.

Dot the Fire Dog by Lisa Desimini. My kid loves all things fire truck right now, and dogs are a perennial favorite. This combines them both as it follows Dot though her day at the fire station.

We Planted a Tree, Diane Muldrow. We originally checked this book out for Earth Day, but I liked it so much we got it again recently.
