I’m Heather:  stay at home mom to two small boys.

  I started this blog because both of my boys have food allergies and intolerances. I started out cooking without gluten, dairy, egg, peanut and tree nuts. At first I wondered what the heck I could feed them. Hence, the name “Feeding My Kid.” With practice, I got into a rhythm of converting recipes to meet our needs. Recently, my son has outgrown his egg allergy, so we have added eggs back into our diet. Both my sons can also now tolerate some dairy in their diet.

My mom taught me to sew at age 13, and it is still my number one hobby. I love to craft and sew, especially stuff for my boys.

This blog is all about making the best life for my family on a one-income budget. I work hard at saving money and try to make thoughtful choices to feed their bodies, their minds, and nurture their souls. I just believe that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to do that.
